Over the last few months, we’ve experienced a big growth spurt on the Islands of jokaydia and it’s been a joy to welcome all our new residents and work with them as they start exploring how they will use Second Life, and building their spaces. We have residents from around the world now – Australia, Canada, France, Columbia, the UK, Japan and the US! And I’m really excited to see the community connections forming, and the sharing and collaboration starting to happen. jokaydia is a really exciting place to be… but OMG with such diverse timezones.. do I need some sleep! ;)
So I’m very happy to announce that one of my oldest SL friends – the lovely Azzura Supplee – will be joining us on jokaydia! Az will be helping me out with some Island management and building. She is a talented designer and has created brilliant stuff which she sells at her stores – Safety Girl (Slurl) and Azzurave (Slurl), and also taught me alot when I was first learning to build and script.
For jokaydia residents – Az will be teaching some classes in the coming weeks and can also help you with general questions. Drop by and say hello next time you see her inworld!
Jo Kay aka jokay Wollongong is a freelance digital designer and facilitator working in virtual worlds and educational technology. She helps educators and organisations to use new and innovative technologies for learning. Jo is the owner and facilitator of the Islands of jokaydia Project – a space for a vibrant community of educators to explore the use of virtual worlds in education.
