Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the comment. Machinima production is not a complicated process. First, it's important to have the right tools to capture video inworld. I use Fraps on a PC and Snapz Pro X on a Mac. You can try them both for free but will need to buy a full version if you want a fully functioning application. Once I capture the footage I want, I use video editing software (iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, and, my favourite so far, Adobe Premiere Elements).

The length of the process varies - the Flight over jokaydia video took just a couple of hours, including capturing the footage and editing. However, it is a very short piece. The Virtual Classroom Project video (http://marchstudios.blip.tv/file/895367/) took a couple of days! So, it really depends on the individual project.

I'd be happy to chat with you inworld to explain some of the finer points, including the camera huds that I use to capture footage. Might even do a session on it for the upcoming jokaydia unconference!

Yes, the Teachers Without Borders experience was amazing and I will soon start reflecting on it on my blog. I'm glad you enjoyed the first piece. After that, we moved on to Kenya where Internet access was very limited, so I couldn't post more. However, I was diligently taking notes and reflecting in my notebook and will soon start sharing my experiences on my blog.

Welcome back. I need to learn to do machinima. How long does it take you to produce a video like the ones you made here. Thank you for sharing it and I look forward to hearing about how your trip was. Based on the one blog post I read, it must have been incredible. Isn't it amazing how fast that filled in. Welcome back and I hope to be able to
