Vote for jokaydia!

Time for a bit of shameless self-promotion!

I’m very proud and to say that the Islands of jokaydia (SLurl) has been nominated in the Best Use of a Virtual World category again this year, as part of the Annual Edublog Awards hoopla! A special thanks has to go out to those that nominated us – including KerryJ, Sarah, Sue and Dean.

What an honour.. and a testament to the work of EVERYONE involved in the jokaydia Community of Practice – who have explored, networked, danced, built, rezzed, hosted, newbie mentored, learnt, skipped and most importantly SHARED with all of us along the way! 2008 has been a huge year for our community and I know I’ve learnt so much from everyone… so thanks jokaydians! U r teh awsum!

And yes I know you might be wondering about conflicts of interest. There is a part of me that is a little bit uncomfy about our dual role as nominees and hosts of the awards ceremony event. Eeek! But I can vouch for the fact that we only host the celebrations and have no involvement in the nomination or voting process. So what the hell… VOTE FOR US! ;)

A special shout out to the other nominees in our category – who are all doing wonderful virtual worlds in education work – Discovery Education Second Life, Drexel Island, Edunation, Oh! Virtual Learning!, Literary Worlds. Congratulations guys!

And finally I MUST promote the lovely jokaydians who are also nominated in the Awards this year!

Way to represent everyone! Go vote for them too! ;)

Now get voting and stay tuned for more details on the gala award ceremony (including what Josie and I are wearing.. lolz) soon!
