Well, we’re back after a little holiday from blog posts and other webby business and ready for an exciting year on the Islands of jokaydia! I’ve had a great break from work to focus on exploring and playing in Second Life over the last few weeks and I’m really excited about all the things we have planned for 2009!
To kick us off with a bang(!) the Islands of jokaydia will be taking part in the Linden Labs Education Support Faire – an event designed to bring together educators, academics, and students to explore the support mechanisms available to residents who use Second Life to enhance real world educational efforts. You can see me above standing on the empty plot we’ve just been give to build the jokaydia booth for the event.
The Education Support Faire will be held inworld from the 25th – 30th January 2009. Mark it in your diaries now! We’ll provide more details about jokaydian plans for the event soon!
Jo Kay aka jokay Wollongong is a freelance digital designer and facilitator working in virtual worlds and educational technology. She helps educators and organisations to use new and innovative technologies for learning. Jo is the owner and facilitator of the Islands of jokaydia Project – a space for a vibrant community of educators to explore the use of virtual worlds in education.
