Just when you thought the event planning had hit is peak, it’s time to announce our Free Monthly Newbie Events on the Islands of jokaydia!
These events are designed especially for newbie educators who want to fast-track their Second Life skills. Each Newbie Session will include a range of activitie which help participants to understand:
- Camera Tools
- Using Objects in Second Life
- Creating and Editing Your Avatar
- Landmarks and Notecards
- Communication Tools
We will also plan simple activities and visit to various spaces as part of the event to sure that newbie activies are both informative AND fun! ;)

Jo Kay aka jokay Wollongong is a freelance digital designer and facilitator working in virtual worlds and educational technology. She helps educators and organisations to use new and innovative technologies for learning. Jo is the owner and facilitator of the Islands of jokaydia Project – a space for a vibrant community of educators to explore the use of virtual worlds in education.
