Moving Day!

As many of our residents already know, we in the jokaydia team have been discussing the future of jokaydiaGRID over the last few months with a view to renewing our hosting arrangements, and its finally time to make some exciting announcements!

Commencing on the 12th October 2012, jokaydia will be undertaking a migration of our grid to a new hosting arrangement with SimHost! This will mean a short period of downtime, but ultimately it is a move we need to make to ensure the ongoing stability of jokaydiaGRID, and we are very excited about the upcoming performance improvements,.new features and stability it will enable!

We expect the main part of the move to be completed by 14th October 2012, with the process finalized by 23rd October 2012. Further announcements about specific downtime and testing will be provided here in the coming days.

Important Notes for our Rental Tenants

  • First of all, dont panic! We take the care and management of your content very seriously, and much planning has been going on to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible!
  • All of our rental tenants can expect a personalized email within the next 48hrs letting them know about specific arrangements for the transfer of their properties and content.
  • Oar files (regions) will be carefully transferred and tested on the new grid.
  • All avatars associated with your projects will be moved and their inventory delivered on the new server.
  • For those who are currently running classes at jokayiaGRID – please get in touch with us so we can prioritize your sims and students accounts during the move. We will work with everyone to ensure that there is as little disruption as possible! You can email us class details via support@jokaydiagrid.com.

Important Notes for jokaydiaGRID Account Holders

As part of the move, we will be cleaning up our database and removing abandoned accounts. However, IAR (inventory transfers) and account setups for all account holders who register their avatar for transfer will be completed during the move. If you have precious cargo in your inventory, please register for transfer so we can ensure that you receive all of your content on the new server!

To request your transfer, simply complete the Avatar Transfer form here, and we will make arrangements for your inventory to be packed up and delivered to the new grid! Please note that the deadline for registration is 20 October 2012.

Special Thanks

  • Many thanks to the Reaction Grid for their support over the last few years. Although RG’s solutions arent such a great fit anymore, we’ve learnt lots during our time with them and wish them well on the jibe journey!
  • Big thanks to James Stallings from SimHost who will be assisting us with the move over the coming weeks. We are looking forward to working with him and the SimHost Team.
  • Extra special thanks to Azzura Supplee and also @mintie for ongoing support with decision-making and planning, and of course your wise counsel over the last few weeks! You two are stars!
  • And of course a pre-emptive thanks to all of our rental tenants and residents at jokaydiaGRID! We will endeavour to make this as stress-free as possible for everyone, and we appreciate your patience during the process!

i hope your move goes smoothly – the biggest hurdle should be people recreating their avatars, but with their IAR files it should only take a few seconds (just drag your folder of your base outfit, shape, and skin)

James has been great for our 2+ years and i hope you experience the same satisfaction – truly top notch and great performance =)
