A Special Audience with Glyph Graves

Many of our residents know the amazing SL artist Glyph Graves via the creatures he has provided us on the Islands of jokaydia, and his work on jokaydia II in the early months of 2008.
Sooo.. I am very happy to invite everyone to join me for a special visit to Glyph’s latest exhibition at the Russian Archipelago tomorrow night, for a special audience with the artist!
Titled ‘Changes’, Glyph’s latest works are intricate, beautiful and organic and a real must see! The exhibition opened last weekend and will close on the 12 August 2008. AND.. he has kindly agreed to meet visitors from the jokaydia Community at the Russian Archipelago (SLurl) at 8:30pm AEST on Thurs 17 July 2008 (3:30amSLT, Check your local time here)
A very special thanks to Glyph for finding the time to share with us - what a special opportunity! Seeya there!
New Venue: Bar jokaydia!

Over the past few days, Azzura and I have been working on a new social space for the islands. I’ve named it Bar jokaydia!

You can view some great images from Konrad here too.
The aim of this space was to create a fun and engaging place to meetup for informal chats and impromtu parties. We will also hold some fireside chats in the space shortly.

Visit Bar jokayida here (SLurl) … and keep an eye out for the launch party happening very soon!!
Need Transportation!?

Checking out horses with Al Lurton. He definitely needs a big white stallion to go with his new knight’s outfit!

Virtual Shakespeare Anyone?

In celebration of Shakespeare’s birthday, coming up on the 23 April , the SL Shakespeare company is staging a mini production of Hamlet - or more specifically Act 3, Scene 2, a.k.a., The
Mousetrap.
The SL Shakespeare Company are a really interesting group, and of course there are obvious educational applications for inworld theatre, so I urge you to check it out.
Event Details:
- Venue: The Globe Theatre in Second Life (SLurl)
- Time: 23 April 2008, 6pm SL/PST
- Check your local time here.
Scouting for Resources

I managed to find some groovy enviro resources at the Big Green Switch, a group that offer carbon offsets for both sims and avatars.
Check out http://www.biggreenswitch.co.uk/secondlife.
Hopefully some of these pieces will be useful for the Virtual Classroom project.
