Yes… I’m back! After a little hiatus from blogging, I’m back and ready to start using the blog to record my online adventures again.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been busily publishing in a range of spaces and finalising a bunch of projects. Check out the links below for more info about some of the stuff I’ve been exploring/working on:
- Metal:ED – we were recently awarded a Highly Commended in the the Peter Wright Award for Excellence in Teaching. The project is steaming ahead with some new demo video clips available on the blog.
- Gong Media Bloggers – I’m so proud of the Diploma in Communication and Media Students at Wollongong campus and the work they’ve been doing on their blog. Go team!
- New Media for Youth Learnscope Project – I’ve had a great time working with team members from Nowra and Bega in the last few weeks. They’ve have created some exciting digital stories and videos.
- Wiki-Madness at Shellharbour Campus: A number of teams are using Wikis to work on various class work and a collection of digital stories. We’ve also been exploring PDAs with that team, and have had lots of fun.
- The Second Life explorations and presentations continue. I’ve recently been sharing and demoing Second Life at a whole range of events including eLearning 06, BYS06 and for SA Learnscopers.
- Rebuilding My Virtual Home: I’ve recently rebuilt my virtual home in Second life, and am working on my skills in designing and building in 3d environments. Visit me in Wasp! I’d love your feedback.
- flickr-ing!: Even when taking a break from blogging, I can’t help but flickr! Check out some of my new collections including: Explorations in Secondlife, MetalED, NSW Learnscope06, FLNW06 and a collection of special Family pics.
Coming up this week, I’ll be leading a Tour of Second Life for participants of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework’s eNetworks November Online Conference.
We’ll be holding the tour on Wednesday 22 November 8:00pm – 9:00pm (AEDT), starting from my home in Wasp. Click here to join us!
The aim of the tour is to introduce teachers and facilitators to Second Life and some of it’s possibilities for teaching and learning in vocational education and training. We’ll be exploring some interesting educational spaces including the Second Life Library and Campus: Second Life.
I hope you can join us! 😉
For those who might need instructions on setting up for Second Life, check out my wiki for some clues, or email me for further details.
