I’ve been doing some work with the Australian Association for the Teaching of English to redesign and update their website, and am happy to announce that the new site is now live @ http://www.aate.org.au.
Still testing a little, so there may be a few little hiccups, but I’m so relieved to finally have the thing online! 😉 I’ll also be implementing an RSS feed in the Media Centre section within the next few days, so keep an eye out if you’re an English teacher!
Anyway, checkout the following:
- AATE’s Policy Documents including The Teaching of English in Australia and Professional Development for English Teachers
- AATE Media Centre – for the Latest word from the AATE Executive Council or check out a Newsfeed from EdNA
- AATE Calendar – find out about events relevant (we’re using Eventful to power this – great new tool!)
- AATE Bookshop – I could spend a fortune! 😉
Hopefully, this is just the beginnings of the AATE’s online journey, and we’ll continue to enhance the site, adding some more Web 2.0 features in the near future.
Next steps for the AATE might include:
- Some experiments with Wikis and forums to get the online discussion started
- Automating the bookshop more effectively and integrating Paypal
- More dynamic content in the media section including podcasts from conferences and such
- Maybe even blogging!
Got any other suggestions??
This looks fantastic, Jo. I agree with you about the incorporation of Web 2.0 tools. That would be great.
